The paper proposes an approach for a local data acquisition, integration, processing and visualization system for teams in the immediate response to disaster events. The proposed system is light weight and flexible and can be easily deployed in the field. The paper further describes the initial evaluation of the base system in a real-world urban search and rescue (USAR) exercise, evaluates the components and gives an outlook on the up-coming developments.
