Oslo through an Economic Lens—The Paris Protocol
摘要
The Protocol on Economic Relations between Israel and Palestine has been analysed and discussed in the academic and professional literature numerous times, as being the legal framework defining the relations from 1994 onwards, until today. In this sense, this chapter is no different and presents the main issues of the agreement, that is, trade, labour, taxation, and monetary and fiscal issues. However, taking into account the asymmetricity of the balance of power, the focus of the analysis here is on the scale of trade-offs between economic and political spheres the Paris Protocol has set at the time the Oslo I Accord was signed.
