A Proposal for an Adaptive Compiler Architecture and Design for Precision and Scale Aware Compilation Using Data-Oriented Design

In modern software engineering compilation is one of the two main strategies used to simplify program development. Recently the interest in various kinds of approximate compilation has grown. Such technology is also required for the design laid out in our previous work. Construction of an approximate compiler poses several challenges, most notably in areas of bounded precision assurance, optimization strategies and reasonable compiler performance. In this paper we’ll detail some aspect of such architecture mainly focusing on optimization strategies and overall compilation pipeline design while providing only cursory insights into precision assurance and compiler performance. In addition, we’ll discuss some considerations in practical implementation and usage.
