Analysis of Sustainable Competitive Advantages and Innovative Applications in the Smart Parking Industry

The global smart transportation market continues to experience rapid growth. In 2023, the market size was valued at approximately USD 122.4 billion, and it is expected to reach USD 248.7 billion by 2028, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 15.2%. This study aims to explore the innovative applications within the smart parking value chain, including comprehensive parking lot layout design, smart payment machines, and intelligent car-finding systems. It further analyzes how companies can leverage their core competitiveness and niche markets to sustain growth momentum and achieve sustainable competitive advantages. Through corporate interviews and field studies, the research identifies the key success factors that help companies build competitiveness and increase profit. The study adopts qualitative research and draws the following results: (1) Introducing the parking technology significantly improves user parking behavior. (2) Integrating service design with technological applications enhances the user experience, thereby increasing user satisfaction. (3) Strengthening the integration capabilities of IoT applications can effectively boost industry competitiveness. Based on the research findings, this study also summarizes the key success factors that contribute to the successful development and profitability of parking industry: (1) Providing high-quality customer experience; (2) Rapid response to and resolution of customer issues; (3) Adopting standardized processes for the quick construction of parking space.
