Error-visualization supports learning by presenting learners’ errors in a different form, helping learners recognize and correct them. some learners may only check if their answer is correct or incorrect without analyzing the reason behind their error. If learners do not examine their errors in detail, learning through error-visualization becomes a simple checking process, and it is not possible to promote understanding. In this study, we propose a method for providing learners with mapping problems, with the aim of visualizing errors in the field of vector composition in mathematics. The system provides “operation instructions”, which are a model for guiding learners’ activities. By constructing diagrams according to this model, learners can reflect on their visualized errors through specific tasks. This approach allows learners to actively explore “why their answers are incorrect”, and makes reflection a clear part of the learning process. In addition, this study evaluated the system we developed and demonstrated the learning effectiveness of the system.
