The simulation has been used regularly because their efficiency is very high with the strong development of computational science and computer technology nowadays. The research on the vibration monitoring (vibro-monitoring, VM) and on the technical diagnostics using vibration signals (technical vibro-diagnostics, VD) by simulating will achieve high efficiency from the vibro-signal acquisition of real-virtual processes, to the vibration data processing, vibration signal processing. Software will be deployed to build at the same time for the virtual simulation process as well as building real equipment for measuring, monitoring and diagnosing. This paper studies on building an algorithm, characteristics of simulation programming on Labview to create a random multi-harmonic signal and to process the acquired random signal in the frequency and time domain. The software modules which had been built on LabView, have been used for calculating torsional vibration as well as for measuring torsional vibration, monitoring, diagnosing equipment on the MDE. The research results on torsional vibrations in this paper had been verified on the main propulsion plant MAN B&W 6G70 ME-C9.2 of the container vessel CV.xxx-xxx, that had been new-building ship and sea–trial tests in Korea.
