The Relationship Between Architectural Language and Parametric Wood Architecture

This article presents a study on “The relationship between architectural language and Parametric Wood Architecture”. Architectural language is considered a form of artistic expression, conveying a certain cultural meaning that is transferred from image to simulated form. Digital representation languages have evolved with high precision, promoting recognition through 3D modeling. Parametric Wood Architecture (PWA) is based on using wood as a technical material, combined with computer science and topological geometry to create complex shapes on the digital platform of wood. PWA employs a parameterization system combined with wooden structures, enhancing the ability to express complex architectural languages and creating emphasis for architectural works. Architectural language and PWA trends are closely related. PWA possesses a unique architectural language with distinctive architectural forms, wood materials, and topological geometry with continuously shifting curves. Architectural language successfully shapes symbolic elements in architectural design. This trend also clearly reflects the meaningful thinking that architects want to convey through shaping and utilizing materials in their projects.
