Drape is described as the ability of a fabric to stretch when bent under its own weight, to create distinct shapes on the statue model or on the human body. Similar to the evaluation of other fabric characteristics, initial drape is also traditionally evaluated subjectively. Fabric materials have unique properties that make them capable of deforming and draping differently and differently from other materials. Cotton fabrics will not deform and drape in the same way as polyester fabrics. In this study, we design and manufacture an Optical Drape Measuring Machine combined with a camera for image processing. The advantage of this method is that it uses a Fresnel lens to create a parallel beam of light that shines on the fabric surface, creating a shadow of the fabric on the camera to determine drape coefficient.
