The present paper investigates the effect of Energy saving devices (ESD) on ship performance using the CFD method combined with towing tank tests. The differences in resistance and propulsive coefficient between a ship with and without ESD are analyzed in this study. The paper also study the discrepancies in flow field to explain the physical phenomenon that leads to a change in the ship’s self-propulsion parameters. The JBC ship with and without ESD in model scale are chosen as a study object to verify and validate the accuracy of computed results.

摘要
