The current global energy landscape is undergoing a significant shift toward renewable energy sources due to growing concerns over climate change and the need for alternative power sources. Renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and hydroelectric power, have seen remarkable growth trends, supported by decreasing costs and increasing efficiency. However, challenges persist, such as intermittency, storage limitations, and infrastructure development hurdles. Renewable energy offers numerous environmental benefits, notably reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating air and water pollution. It also aids in conserving natural resources and enhancing climate change resilience. Policymakers worldwide are increasingly implementing supportive regulatory frameworks and incentives to accelerate renewable energy adoption. Investment in renewable energy projects continues to rise, with technological innovations driving further advancements in this sector. These factors collectively present substantial global opportunities for the widespread deployment of renewable energy solutions. In this chapter, we discuss these issues, opportunities, benefits of renewable energy and offer potential solutions to drawbacks in its deployment. We surmise that achieving a renewable energy revolution requires concerted synergy at all levels— policy reforms, technological advancements, and societal shifts.

摘要
