Renewable Energy: Key Aspects of Patent Rights to Promote Investment in Innovation
摘要
The objective of this chapter is to explore the role of patent rights in promoting investments in innovation for renewable energy. The research focuses on the value chain’s pursuit of development, economic, social, and environmental prosperity for a sustainable planet for future generations. This requires the ability to innovate and create technological advancements in renewable energy that contribute to environmental sustainability. The energy demand around the world points out the need to find new technologies for energy production to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN 2030 agenda. Methodology: Review of legislation, scientific literature, and patent databases from 2000 onward, using codes from international patent classifications and sample categorization. Cooperative Patent Classification: section Y; classes Y02 and Y04; and subclasses: Y02B, Y02C, Y02D, Y02E, Y02P, Y02T, and Y04S.
