Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming our workforce. It is critical for the workforce and everyone in society to be literate in AI and data to excel in a world flowing with data and driven by AI. Until recently, there has been little knowledge and research into how to introduce AI to learners without an engineering background, such as the general public and pre-college students. One approach that has shown promise in AI and STEM disciplines is digital game-based learning. In this paper, we discuss the design of an educational game, Becoming Fei, that aims to introduce the basic concepts and processes of machine learning to learners without an engineering background.
