Mind the Gap: Understanding Diverse Student Experiences with AI Through GAAIS Analysis
摘要
The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has transformed daily life. This raises questions about how different populations perceive and interact with AI technologies. Our study examined demographic differences in AI attitudes among university students (N = 1,365). We used two measurement tools: The General Attitudes towards Artificial Intelligence Scale (GAAIS) and General Attitudes Towards Artificial Intelligence Comfort Scale (GATAC). The results showed significant differences based on first-generation status, academic progression, gender, and language background. First-generation students and non-native English speakers demonstrated lower comfort levels with AI technologies. These findings indicate where targeted support may be needed in AI-enhanced learning environments.
