The value and charm of world cultural heritage cannot be underestimated, whether among researchers or the general public. The thesis aims to explore the pathways of excavating world cultural heritage through the concepts and methods of cultural innovation design, as well as the acceptance of its cultural products. The thesis will analyze and extract the cultural connotations and elements of the “Mandarin’s House in Macau,” proposing a conceptual model for the transformation of world cultural heritage into modern design. The Lingnan-style residential building, the “Mandarin’s House in Macau,” is selected as the case study. A questionnaire survey will be conducted to understand consumer perceptions and evaluations of its cultural products. The thesis hopes to continuously promote the sustainable development of cultural heritage and further enhance its value, providing references for constructing new ideas and directions in cultural innovation design. Specifically, the research will unfold from the following aspects: (1) Excavation of Cultural Connotations: In-depth analysis of the historical background, architectural characteristics, and the social and cultural significance embodied by the Mandarin’s House in Macau, extracting representative cultural elements to provide a rich material foundation for cultural innovation design. (2) Innovation of Design Concepts: Based on the extracted cultural elements, exploring how to integrate them into the design of modern cultural products, forming a design philosophy that meets contemporary consumer needs and achieves the modern transformation of culture. (3) Assessment of Consumer Acceptance: Collecting consumer feedback on cultural products through questionnaire surveys, analyzing their understanding and recognition of the cultural connotations, and evaluating the acceptance of different products in the market to provide a basis for future design directions. Through these research steps, the thesis not only aims to provide theoretical support for the development of cultural products related to the Mandarin’s House in Macau but also hopes to offer a reference template for the development of cultural heritage in other regions, promoting the protection and innovation of global cultural heritage and achieving sustainable cultural development.
