Based on the Cultural Intelligence Scale (CQS) and its four constructs, 1,079 data from Chinese employees were collected. In the Chinese context, the study reports descriptive statistics of cultural intelligence (CQ), verifying the reliability and validity of CQS and exploring the relationship between gender, age, cross-cultural experience, and CQ. The results show that the CQ of Chinese employees is similar to the worldwide tendency, with relatively low cognitive CQ. Moreover, there is no significant relationship between gender and CQ, while a significant correlation exists between age and Metacognitive CQ. Cross-cultural experience, whether one has gone abroad, significantly influences various CQ constructs, especially cognitive CQ. However, no significant relationship exists between the number of visited regions and Behavioral CQ. Finally, there is a correlation between the overseas staying time and CQ. This study is the first large-scale collection of CQ data from the Chinese local population, providing a reference for future cross-cultural research. This study also validated the cross-cultural transferability of CQS and the relationship between age, cross-cultural experience, and CQ.

摘要
