Mechanisms of Corneal Epithelial Homeostasis, Repair, and Regeneration
摘要
The maintenance of the cornea during homeostasis and the reparative processes that occur after injury involves a complex and dynamic set of cellular and molecular events. This chapter presents an overview of the normal physiological processes that occur to maintain the cornea in its steady state and the cellular and molecular processes that become activated following injury to help restore the cornea back to its natural state. Furthermore, specific diseases of the corneal epithelium are discussed in the context of these processes.
