This study examines the accuracy in terms of surface finish of the dental teeth manufactured by using two different techniques: milling machines and DLP based 3D printing machine. The dental tooth was scanned by using intraoral scanner and modifying the shape of teeth through the 3D dental design software (CAD). The precision of each method was compared to determine which technique produces more accurate shape of dental teeth. Ra, Rt, Rz, roughness criteria were measured. The study found that both techniques have their advantages and disadvantages, but overall, dental teeth made through milling machines have higher value Ra = 1.237, Rq = 1.492 and Rz = 6.08 as compared to those made through 3D printing machine Ra = 0.872, Rq = 1.251 and Rz = 6.08. These findings could potentially impact the dental industry and help dentists make more informed decisions when choosing which technique to use for their patients.
