A Review on Cognitive Training Platforms for Elderly Patients with Alzheimer’s Disease
摘要
This study addressed the feasibility for interventions through digital games in the treatment of early-stage Alzheimer’s disease, highlighting the importance of availability of cognitive training platforms adapted for elderly patients. The literature review emphasizes the need for personalized and accessible solutions for the elderly and institutions, in a scalable and collaborative manner. It was identified that the works found did not present conclusive results and that specific Alzheimer’s gaming platforms without profit typically cease to exist, being personally linked to the researcher, and although digital technologies offer new perspectives, commercial platforms present general applicability and not specific to a treatment, posing challenges such as high costs, limitations in activity customization, and considerations regarding user data privacy and maintenance. It is proposed, based on these analyses, an articulation with the academic community to implement collaborative and open-source solutions to optimize research effectiveness and regulate the ethical use of digital technologies in cognitive training for Alzheimer’s patients and ensure research continuity.
