Diagnostic Imaging Techniques in Appendicular Musculoskeletal Infections
摘要
Appendicular musculoskeletal infection can take many forms, depending on the layers of soft tissue, bone, or joint involved. These include cellulitis, necrotizing fasciitis, pyomyositis/soft tissue abscess, prosthetic joint infection, septic arthritis, infective tenosynovitis/bursitis, and osteomyelitis. This chapter provides a comprehensive overview of various imaging techniques utilized, namely radiography, ultrasound imaging, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear medicine imaging. We discuss each technique, principles, indications, and limitations of these imaging modalities in appendicular musculoskeletal infections.
