Imaging of Appendicular Musculoskeletal Infections in Neonates and Children
摘要
Infants and children commonly present with a wide range of musculoskeletal infections, which can vary from relatively benign superficial infections to aggressive osseous and articular infections. Imaging workup complements robust clinical history and physical examination, playing an essential role in the diagnosis and follow-up of pediatric musculoskeletal infections. This chapter aims to provide an up-to-date overview of the pathophysiology and imaging manifestations of musculoskeletal infections in the pediatric population. Important mimics of pediatric musculoskeletal infections are also discussed.
