Imaging of Appendicular Musculoskeletal Fungal Infections
摘要
Appendicular musculoskeletal fungal infections, though rare, pose significant diagnostic challenges and often mimic other more common conditions such as bacterial infections or malignancies. Timely and accurate imaging is crucial for the diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of these infections. Imaging modalities such as radiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound imaging, and nuclear medicine play distinct roles in the diagnosis and management of appendicular musculoskeletal fungal infections. Through a comprehensive review of the literature and illustrative case examples, this chapter aims to enhance the reader’s knowledge and confidence in recognizing and interpreting imaging findings of appendicular musculoskeletal fungal infections.
