A central challenge for developers of customized clothing products is to ensure that their products fit any individuals for whom they are intended. The study aims to improve the product quality, applying statistical methods for the validation of the input (body measurements) and the output (patterns for customized clothing). The study provides a guideline to implement a validation mechanism for body measurements based on existing and publicly available data that allows to avoid the preparation of low-quality patterns. Regarding the output, the study provides a method to uncover technologically detectable errors in the constructions before the customized clothing products are validated through physical tailoring and fittings. Both approaches carry substantial economic potential, since they allow to accelerate the development process of customized clothing products.
