Sometimes, We Do Harm: How to Deal with Physician Error
摘要
Medical error, including physician error, is often spoken of from a patient safety and quality improvement perspective. Missing in this narrative is the transparency that we all make mistakes, as well as training in how to proceed when you are the physician who was responsible for the error. This chapter outlines the cognitive biases that could potentiate error, physician response to this stress, and how to move on after the error.
