This research set out to explore process mining as a solution to extract knowledge about organizational groupings from event logs and use that knowledge to facilitate the management of human resources groups. Motivated by the research problem, we first conducted a thorough review of the existing organizational model mining approaches, which is a set of process mining techniques dedicated to discovering knowledge about resource groupings. Our review identified several key research gaps to be addressed.
