Forensic Analysis of Drone and UAV Flight Data
摘要
The chapter explains the process of examining flight data from drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to assist in forensic investigations. This chapter provides an overview of open source forensic tools specifically designed for this task, such as DatCon, CsvView, and DROP (DROne Parser). DatCon is explored for its capability to convert proprietary drone data logs into a more accessible format to support deeper analysis. CsvView is selected for its user-friendly interface that allows investigators to visually inspect flight data captured in CSV files. Lastly, the chapter introduces DROP, an open-source tool to parse drone flight logs. Through hands-on examples and case studies, this chapter guides readers through the practical application of these tools in real-world scenarios. We demonstrate how they can provide information on flight paths, behavior, and potential drone malfunctions.
