This chapter examines the application of the SEND Online Safety Framework in the Headstart Kernow project, a trauma-informed initiative supporting children’s mental health and digital resilience. By integrating the framework into real-world practice, the study validates and refines its core principles while addressing the complexities of safeguarding children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) online. Findings emphasize the need for multi-stakeholder collaboration, evidence-based risk mitigation strategies, and youth-centred approaches that prioritize resilience over prohibition. The chapter introduces the Digital Resilience Guidance for People Supporting SEND Young People, a resource designed to equip caregivers and professionals with contextualized, adaptable strategies for fostering safer digital experiences. The discussion highlights key challenges, including misconceptions about SEND online risks, training gaps, and the need for balanced safeguarding approaches, reinforcing the importance of empowerment, open dialogue, and digital inclusion in SEND online safety interventions.
