Additive technologies are becoming a promising sector of the economy, thanks to the optimization of production facilities, their modernization and technical re-equipment, and the creation of new technological directions. The method of creating 3D models allows using various materials as a raw material base: plastic, metal, concrete. However, the technology is not limited to these materials. Additive printing is used to manufacture food products. In addition, experiments are underway to 3D print organs from human tissue. The ability to produce products with complex geometry and low cost, as well as the mobility of production and fast data exchange make additive technologies a promising sector of the economy. At the same time, representatives of the criminal world are also showing interest in this type of production. In the global practice of combating crime, there are cases of 3D printing being used to manufacture items restricted in civil circulation (e.g., firearms, drugs), as well as things that serve as a means of achieving criminal goals (e.g., lock keys). 3D printing is not neglected in law enforcement practice either. Additive technologies are becoming a new tool for optimizing the activities of law enforcement agencies to collect, process and use forensically relevant information in the detection and investigation of crimes. 3D scanners for collecting evidentiary information and investigating the circumstances of crimes. In particular, additive technologies are used to create models of traces of crimes and objects used in their commission. Subsequently, a 3D model of the trace or object can be printed on a 3D printer for use in procedural actions: on-the-spot testimony, identification, investigative or expert experiment.
