Customer Support by Using Multilingual AI During Energy Transition to the Sixth Technological Paradigm Economy
摘要
This chapter is devoted to the study of the internet multilingualism role during energy transition to the sixth technological paradigm economy. Analogously to previous waves of technological innovation, Artificial intelligence (AI) is likely to displace old skills and bring about new ones. Current abilities of the informational and communicational space reflect the tendency to fully address various needs and demands of present-day society. The multilingualism of the internet became a response to its numerous challenges: a growing demand for inclusion, “englishization”, and nationality-based segmentation. At the same time, transitional companies create multilingual online resources to increase their market presence following the classical “think globally, act locally” principle. Monolingual AI technologies shifted towards large language models (LLMs) in multiple languages. Based on machine learning methods, such models estimate probabilistic context-dependent combinations of words and their meaning in large arrays of textual data. The research has resulted in revealing the fact, that LLMs are widely used in search systems, chatbots, and oral, written, and audiovisual translations, as well as help create marketing texts and emails. Multilingual resources often adopt a mixed approach to AI, combining machine translation with data search in a specific language. That is how advanced FAQ systems operate, exemplified in this article by English, German, and Russian website versions of HUAWEI, the world’s leader in the ICT and smart electronics market. In June 2021, the corporation established a new division, Huawei Digital Power, to integrate digital and power technologies and facilitate green energy development.
