As a widely consumed beverage, coffee has garnered interest for its potential benefits on liver health. Studies have shown that coffee consumption may help limit the progression of chronic liver diseases toward fibrosis, but it seems not to protect against NAFLD development. While there is evidence supporting the beneficial effects of coffee on liver health, further research is needed to determine the optimal amount and form of coffee consumption to maximize these hepatoprotective effects in NAFLD. Factors such as the type of coffee bean, preparation method, and individual differences may influence coffee’s impact on liver health.
