Environmental and Public Health Risk Assessment of Mosquito Adulticides Containing Prallenthrin
摘要
Pyrethroids are structurally similar to natural pyrethrins. They are widely used in pest management and agriculture causing several environmental risks affecting human health. Pyrethroids especially type 2 have been used as insect repellents and are very harmful for humans due to their resistance to metabolic degradation. Prallethrin is reported to increase quantities of reactive oxygen species (ROS), increase SGPT activity and has also been linked to alterations in human plasma biochemical profiles. The goal of this study was to uncover and assess the quality of prallethrin-related epidemiological research that looked at long-term health impacts, as well as to compare the results to animal toxicity studies.
