Geothermal Energy: An Unlikely Major Energy Source?
摘要
Since geothermal energy is a promising source of sustainable power generation, there are substantial obstacles in the way of its development into a major global energy source. This study looks at the advantages and disadvantages of widespread use of geothermal energy. It examines geothermal power’s low emissions and renewable nature, as well as its dependability as a baseload energy source and the business opportunities it offers. The study also explores geothermal energy’s drawbacks, such as its geographic restrictions, high upfront costs, intricate technical requirements, and competition from other renewable energy sources. The paper offers insights into the viability and future prospects of geothermal energy as a significant contributor to the global energy landscape by synthesizing these factors.
