As the electronics industry develops and technology advances at a quicker pace, vast quantities of refuse electrical and electronic equipment (waste electrical equipment, dubbed electronic waste) are being produced. Inadequate management of electronic waste has detrimental effects on the objectives of Sustainable Development objectives (SDGs), including pollution, health hazards, and resource loss. Being able to recycle and repurpose is crucial since e-waste contains both useful and detrimental components. Inadequate information and inappropriate equivalent sets of regulations are two of the many obstacles that impede effective administration. The difficulties, consequences, and solutions to the issue of e-waste management in developing countries are explored in depth in this study article. In order to control the expanding problem of electronic garbage, it is essential to establish suitable regulations, provide necessary infrastructure, and educate the public. The study seeks to provide the foundation for future research that proposes methods to improve e-waste management process by pointing out difficulties with the present stage of the research, such as the absence of concrete recommendations and practical solutions. The analysis also emphasizes the need of transitioning to a circular economy and the advantages of recycling and recovering precious metals from e-waste, which may contribute to economic development. In order to promote responsible consumption and diminish e-waste, the paper calls for the implementation of policies such as pollution fees and the establishment of specific laws that emphasize the three R’s (Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling).
