This study evaluates the applicability of existing AI interaction design guidelines in Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing. By applying Microsoft’s HAX and Google’s PAIR guidelines to a selected commercial AI optimization solution, we identified gaps in their ability to support structured, real-time decision-making in SMT workflows. Based on these findings, we propose SMT-specific AI interaction guidelines that address production readiness, real-time process optimization, expert-user validation, and AI integration. These guidelines ensure that AI-driven solutions effectively balance automation and human oversight, enhancing usability for both novice and expert engineers. Future research should validate and refine these guidelines through empirical user testing and explore their applicability in other precision manufacturing domains.

摘要
