Navigating through the many options of modern career paths is becoming increasingly opaque for job seekers. With our newly developed AI-based web application “Interactive Career Atlas” we try to counteract this development. The application is simple: users provide information about their current work situation, interests, desires or restrictions in free text format. A fine-tuned language model (“AI”) in the background matches the free text with possible jobs, and as a result, users are presented with a map of their individual career landscape. On this map, they see different jobs they could take, filtered by their unique interests, specialties and limitations. The project is supported by scientific research, as findings from work and organizational psychology are integrated into both the development of the application and the design of a planned evaluation study – with the aim of examining the social benefits of the application from a psychological perspective.
