This study examines nearly 300 recorded images at Serra da Lua, including petroglyphs and pictographs, formed by Paleoindian hunter-gatherers during the late Pleistocene. Through extensive excavation and analysis of archaeological materials, the findings indicate a complex interaction between ancient inhabitants and the landscape, with images aligned to solar events and evidence of later cultures possibly revering and restoring these artworks. The investigation employed various analytical techniques and contributes to understanding the historical context and meanings of the rock art in the Monte Alegre rainforest.
