Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks continue to pose considerable threats to the availability and integrity of computer networks worldwide. To provide efficient protection against such risks it is essential to have an adaptive approach to detect and mitigate using the various strategies. This paper explores several techniques that achieve all three objectives while simultaneously increasing overall system resilience against future attacks. From traditional strategies to bold new approaches this study rigorously assesses their strengths & limitations across various scenarios—enabling network administrators and security professionals alike make informed decisions on how to secure their infrastructure adequately from the destructive impacts often associated with DoS incidents where safeguarding data privacy/ease of access becomes increasingly difficult.
