A Proposed Product Data Model for Vaccine Lifecycle Management
摘要
Vaccines play a pivotal role in protecting against diseases, especially in pandemics like the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the success of rapid vaccine development in such crises has underscored the necessity of implementing a systematic approach that encompasses the entire vaccine lifecycle and involves all stakeholders. Yet, managing their lifecycle poses challenges. This paper addresses the need for an improved approach to vaccine data management through the proposal of a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) model tailored to vaccine lifecycle management. Based on a review of literature and existing models, we have developed an integrated framework to address vaccine development, production, distribution, and administration. This model aims to fill existing gaps and is built upon criteria that are defined based on the needs of the vaccine lifecycle for data modeling and the PLM approach. In conclusion, through the proposed integrated model, this paper aims to address existing gaps in vaccine lifecycle management, emphasizing the necessity of a systematic approach to effectively navigate the challenges. Additionally, this study introduces various alternative product data models, outlines specific criteria for evaluating them within this context, and offers insights into potential directions for future research.
