Foundations of Human Thermoregulation and Skin Temperature
摘要
The skin plays a crucial role as both sentinel and effector, enabling rapid vasomotor adjustments and powerful sweating responses, and maintenance of homeostasis during both heat and cold stress. The dynamic interplay between core and skin temperatures, along with short- and long-term adaptations, helps humans thrive in diverse environments. Understanding the role of the skin in thermoregulation informs clinical and performance strategies, particularly as climate change challenges human thermal adaptation.
