In this chapter, we share the concept of Sustainable Schools, the experiences of early childhood educators, and the challenges when implementing this concept in Brazil. Initially, our focus is on the concept of Sustainable Schools from the perspective of experts in socio-environmental education and the official Brazilian policy documents. Next, we shift to the particular barriers faced in implementing Sustainable Schools in Brazil and the efforts to overcome them. We conclude this chapter by sharing contextual aspects and partnership experiences around the Sustainable Schools Program in the municipality of São Paulo, a megalopolis located in south-eastern Brazil.
