This chapter addresses the very important problem of power management in Electric Vehicles Charging Stations (EVCSs) with application to the EVCS of the university of Berlin. This example shows the huge opportunities in terms of decision-making rationalization and parameters tuning that is offered by the probabilistic certificationProbabilistic certification paradigm presented in Sect. 2.11. The chapter shows another example of the relevance of the problem-dependent steps in the derivation of a successful design. The problem-dependent choice, involved in the EVCS management problem, concerns the definition of the degrees of freedom used in the design as well as the very problem-specific definition of a successful day in the life of the EVCS. This example underlines also the role of the non-parametric statistical laws fitting issue that lies in the heart of the successful certification-based design. This enforces the message stating that this book is not about a list of recipes that one can blindly apply to any problem. Rather, it is about formulating specific settings for each use-case in which some of the tools and concepts are invoked and used with caution in order to solve the specific problem at hand.
