The realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 - “Health and well-being” - is a global priority, and hearing health is an important component. Nowadays, headphones have become an integral part of college students’ daily lives, but prolonged, high-volume use of headphones can cause irreversible hearing damage. Currently, sustainable and healthy campus life has become a research hotspot, and there are still deficiencies in solutions, especially in the application of headphone use management. The purpose of this paper is to explore the excessive use of headphones by college students and to propose innovative solutions to manage students’ headphone use habits through behavioral design. Using a combination of literature research, user research and competitor analysis, this study conducted an in-depth investigation of the unsustainable behaviors of college students on campus, focusing on the health issues of headphone use and analyzing the pain points in users’ headphone use behaviors. Finally, a campus hearing health assistant APP based on behavioral design theory is proposed. The results show that this study provides a valuable reference for research on hearing health protection for college students. The Campus Hearing Health Assistant APP encourages students to unconsciously develop good headphone use habits during daily use, effectively reduces excessive and incorrect use of headphones, and lowers the risk of hearing damage. The APP takes into full consideration the specific scenarios of headphone use on campus and makes a positive contribution to the realization of sustainable campus life.
