To explore whether virtual reality art scenes have a relieving effect on young people's stress, and to compare whether abstract art scenes and figurative art scenes have different effects on stress relief, volunteers were recruited for a quantitative experiment. The subjects are randomly assigned to either an abstract art scene group or a figurative art scene group. They will be required to engage in an immersive experience within virtual reality scenes. After the experience, interviews will be conducted to record their feelings, and their physiological stress levels and self-perceived stress levels (using the S-AI scale) will be measured. The collected data will be statistically analyzed using SPSS software. Both the abstract and figurative art scenes in virtual reality had obvious effects on relieving self-perceived stress. Figurative art scenes had more noticeable effects on relieving self-perceived stress than abstract scenes. The virtual abstract art scene showed a significant effect on the heart rate index, but the virtual figurative art scene did not show a significant effect on reducing heart rate and physiological stress levels. Virtual reality art scenes are helpful to relieve the pressure experienced on young people. Abstract and figurative art scene have different effects on relieving the pressure of young people, which provides a reference for the design of mental health related products and virtual scenes in virtual reality.
