The diversification of digital devices has heightened the importance of usability. UI design aims to provide intuitive operation and a comfortable experience. With technological advancements, UI designs have become more complex and sophisticated, emphasizing not only usability but also visual beauty and atmosphere. In this context, a preliminary research revealed that recent UI designs prioritize Kansei values, such as enjoyment and beauty, over purely functionality-centered approaches. Therefore, this research focuses on CMF (Color, Material, Finish), a key expressive element in product design, to explore its application in UI design. This research examined both product design and UI design transitions. Initially, the role of CMF in product design was analyzed to clarify the impressions created by each CMF element. Subsequently, the CMF components in various UI design styles, including skeuomorphism, flat design, material design, and others, were assessed. Findings indicate that finish elements play a crucial role in shaping user impressions and enhancing perceived value. Specifically, finishes improve Kansei value by providing visual texture. Understanding and applying CMF to UI can enhance design consistency, convey the intended impression, and deliver an enriched experience to users. This approach is expected to contribute to recent design trends emphasizing Kansei-centered value in digital interfaces.
