In this final chapter, the author discusses the paths Black Americans have taken to accomplish economic and political security. Those paths can be broadly categorized as integration and assimilation or economic and political separation. This discussion of racial strategies for Black Americans dates back to early nineteenth century, and these remain the same paths today.
