Enhancing the Cognition of Traditional Character Symbols Through Body Interaction Technologies
摘要
This study explores integrating gesture-based interaction technology with studying traditional Chinese oracle bone script to enhance cultural understanding and learning outcomes. Symbols, as foundational elements of human communication, carry significant cultural and historical contexts. While traditional methods for teaching these symbols often rely on static visual approaches, recent advancements in embodied interaction emphasise linking physical engagement with cognitive processes. This research proposes a gesture-based interactive device that combines bodily interaction with visual and auditory stimuli, creating an immersive learning experience. By mapping gesture interaction to specific characters, the study seeks to deepen users’ comprehension of ancient scripts and promote cultural appreciation. This innovative approach highlights the potential of body interactive technologies in advancing learning.
