Traditional Chinese landscape painting carries profound cultural, philosophical, and emotional connotations, emphasizing a spatial construction approach of “accessible, viewable, habitable, and tourable.” However, due to the limitations of two-dimensional expressions, viewers often struggle to fully perceive its deep artistic conception. With the development of virtual reality (VR) technology, immersive interactive experiences with landscape paintings have become possible. Based on embodied cognition theory, this study proposes an immersive interaction model that enhances viewers’ sense of immersion and emotional resonance through multisensory interaction. Using Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountainsas a case study, a virtual landscape space is constructed to achieve three-dimensional reconstruction and interactive experiences. Experimental results show that VR technology effectively enhances viewers’ understanding of the artistic conception of landscape paintings, providing new insights for the digital presentation of traditional art and expanding possibilities for cultural heritage preservation and artistic innovation.
