Bamboo is a widely used structural material, with 64% of bamboo species originating from Southeast Asia. Its characteristics include lightweight, structural robustness, flexibility, and rapid growth. This study, in collaboration with Taiwan Bamboo Association “New Generation of Bamboo Structures” exhibition, explores new forms of bamboo construction joints under digital fabrication methods. Utilizing 3D-printed custom joints, the research aims to address the organic and variable diameters of natural bamboo poles. The results include the development of six sets of load-bearing connectors, six sets substructure joints, and three sets dynamic joints. The final work measures 7.6 m in length, 1.1 m in width, and 1.8 m in height, designed for quick assembly and transportation as a mobile exhibition. It received Taiwan’s National Design Silver Award and Bronze Award for practical implementation. As an initial study, limitations were observed in the printing duration and the durability of plastic connectors. Future advancements in printing efficiency and material applications could significantly contribute to the digital fabrication and practical application of bamboo structures in Taiwan.

摘要
