Our introduction to Volume 1 (Stets et al., 2025) set forth a major goal of these volumes to examine sociological social psychological theories, concepts, and processes at the micro, meso, and macro levels of society. In the first volume, we define and discuss these levels of society in more detail and do not repeat these distinctions here (Stets, 2021). However, the theme of examining theories, concepts, and processes across the levels of social reality remain in this volume. Like Volume 1, we asked contributors to look beyond the micro level in analyzing how social psychology pervades substantive areas of sociology to examine all three levels. The contributors endeavored to do so, thereby creating a cohesive and comprehensive treatment of social psychology in fundamental domains of sociology.
