Soil is one among the important components of the planet Earth along with air and water. The mankind is bestowed by soil to supply food, clothes, and shelter. The demand for increased crop yields to feed the growing world’s population with limited fertile farming land the challenge has become everlasting. The majority of the world population resides in semi-arid and arid climatic environments that constitute forty percent of landmass. The land portion utilized for cropping is under hindrances of typical situations that need to be managed by up gradation of technology available in contemporary world. The use of reduced synthetic agrochemicals, increase the input of organic manures, apply microbial inoculants to improve soil fertility, and use of green manures, biochar and sustain the farming system with better yields.
