Chlorinated dibenzodioxins and chlorinated dibenzofurans are pollutants and toxicants present in the environment from different sources, and their level in tobacco requires measurement. The present chapter discusses several methods for the analysis of these compounds. Only a small number of cigarette brands were found to contain detectable levels of dioxins or furans.
